There are two different widow pension that are provided by the Assam Government to the widows of the state. The first one is India Gandhi National Widow Pension and second is Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme. Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme provided by the Central Government and IMUWP is provided by the State Government of Assam.

Under IGNWPS Widow Pension provides an amount of Rs 300 per month to the widows of the Assam state. Under IMUWP the State Government of Assam Provides an amount of Rs 25000/- one time to the widows of the state.

- The applicant should be a permanent resident of the State of Assam
- Age of the applicant must be above 18 to 59 years

Assam Widow Pension Scheme Status 2023
Features of Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme – Under this scheme the Government of India will provide an amount of Rs 300 per month to the widows of the state of Assam. Only BPL category widows are eligible to apply for this scheme.
Features of India Mir Univeral Widow Pension – It will benefit all the widows of the state of Assam to meet the financial requirements.
Approx 40000 families of the State will benefit by the State Government
Apart that beneficiaries will get Rs 250 per month up to the age of 60 years from 45 years.
It will help both categories BPL and APL card holders. It will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries.
