In the Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test, 2 different papers will be conducted. The timing of both the exams will be different. Both the papers will be different as per the candidates who will be applying for the different level of teaching. Paper 1 will be for the candidates who want to apply for the job of teachers of Class I to V while the Paper 2 will be for the candidates who are applying for job of teachers for Class VI to VIII.

Paper 1 will for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V
Paper 2 will for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII
Read – Paper 1 will be for teachers of Class 1st to Class 5th while paper 2 will be for the teachers of Class 6th to Class 8th. The candidates who want to apply for all classes teachers have to appear in both the papers. Both exams will be containing 150 multiple-choice questions. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking in the exam. The time given to complete each exam will be 2 and half hours.

Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years.
Language 1 will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction
Language 2 will focus on the element of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
Mathematics and Environmental Studies focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities as well as pedagogical understanding and applications of the subject.

CDP will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 11 to 14 years. To need to understand learners (psychology of learners), interaction with learners.
Language 1 focuses on proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
Language 2 will focus on the element of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
Mathematics and Science/Social Studies/Social Science will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects.
Main question paper shall be bilingual (Hindi/English).
